Each spring and fall the Town provides roll-off dumpsters at Town Hall for use by residents in their seasonal cleaning. Landscape or hazardous materials are not allowed.
Many common products found in your home such as oil-based paint, mercury, gasoline, de-greaser, cleaning compounds and garden chemicals may be hazardous and should be disposed of at the Town’s Hazardous Materials Drop Off. Latex paint is not hazardous and can be safely disposed of with your regular household garbage once it is dried out and no longer liquid. To dry latex paint, remove the lid and mix in an absorbent, such as kitty litter or sand, to speed the drying process.
Vehicle batteries and oil should never be disposed of in your home trash container. Most automotive shops and stores will accept batteries and used oil for recycling at no charge. Used car tires can be recycled at tire shops when purchasing new tires.
