Wild Plum Asphalt Mill & Overlay:

Weather Update

Due to wet weather this week, milling is taking longer than originally scheduled. Milling on Wild Plum Lane and Wild Plum Court will continue on Saturday, May 9.  Paving on Latigo is expected to begin around May 12 and continue as planned.

Work Scheduled for May 4–19

As part of the probationary acceptance process, the Wild Plum developer, Lennar Homes, will complete a mill and overlay on all internal Wild Plum streets. Lennar Homes is responsible for managing this project and has provided the following information.

Please Remember: All road work is dependent on weather, equipment, crew availability, and other factors. Dates and schedules are subject to change.

Parking and Vehicle Access: Residents may experience periods of limited parking and vehicle access while work is being completed on their street.

  • Please notify any contractors, such as cleaning services, painters, landscapers, or other service providers, about possible parking changes.
  • No Parking signs will be placed on streets before work begins to let residents know when their street is scheduled for repair.
  • Because vehicle access may be limited at times, overnight parking will be allowed on Fairway Lane near the Damsire Drive intersection during the project. The police will not ticket vehicles parked in this area for the duration of the project.

No Street Closures: No street closures are currently planned.

  • Residents should allow extra time when traveling through the construction area.
  • Flaggers will be on site to help direct traffic.
  • For the safety of the crew and to help ensure quality work, please be patient and follow all traffic control instructions.

Driving After Milling: After the streets are milled, please use extreme caution while driving.

  • There will be an approximately 2-inch drop from concrete gutter pans and driveways to the milled asphalt surface.
  • Manholes and water valves will also be approximately 2 inches higher than the milled surface.
  • Loose debris may also be present on the roadway.

Damsire Drive and Fairway Lane Intersection: Although all work is occurring on internal Wild Plum streets, this intersection will be impacted.

  • During the project, the intersection of Damsire Drive and Fairway Lane may have temporary dips or bumps.
  • Please use caution when driving through this intersection.

Week 1, May 4–8: Milling & Patching

The top 2 inches of asphalt will be milled and removed from all Wild Plum streets. The planned milling order is:

  1. Latigo Place
  2. Wild Plum Lane and Wild Plum Court
  3. Wild Plum Lane and Hunter Run Lane
  4. Damsire Drive

Additional asphalt patching is scheduled at multiple locations.

Paving of Latigo Place may take place on Friday, May 8.

Week 2, May 11–15: Paving

Paving is scheduled for all remaining streets. The planned paving order is:

  1. Latigo Place
  2. Wild Plum Lane and Wild Plum Court
  3. Wild Plum Lane and Hunter Run Lane
  4. Damsire Drive

Week 3, May 18–22: Stop Bar Painting

Stop bars will be painted at all stop signs with work expected to finish by May 19.

5 Tools for Street Maintenance Updates

Please know that Public Works is committed to providing timely information about maintenance that impacts resident parking and driving within the Town. Keep in mind that schedules do change rapidly due to issues such as weather and crew availability. The Town communicates about street maintenance in the following ways:

  1. Website: This page is updated first and serves as the one source of truth of street maintenance.
  2. Email: The aim is to send a targeted email to affected residents when work begins in an area. All residents for whom we have an email address receive a message. If you’re not on the Town email list, send a note to KAnton@ColumbineValley.org.
  3. Door Tags: When significant work is planned, Public Works places a note on the front door of each impacted house. If you’re in the habit of entering through the garage, you might check the front door occasionally.
  4. Nextdoor: Find general updates on street maintenance at nextdoor.com/pages/town-of-columbine-valley.
  5. HOA Presidents: If a major and/or time-consuming project will occur in a neighborhood, Staff will communicate with the HOA President so he or she can cascade the information to their residents.
