Hunter Run Lane Road Work Aug. 3-7
8/4/26 Update: The project is on schedule.
To ensure safe roads, the Town is replacing deteriorated pavement on the remainder of Hunter Run Lane. The project involves full-depth pavement reconstruction, including milling, subgrade preparation, asphalt paving, striping, and traffic control. Please be sure to notify any visitors, including family and service providers such as landscapers and housecleaners.
Duration: The project is expected to take approximately five weekdays, Aug. 3-7—weather dependent.
Daytime Road Closures: The project will be completed in sections with daytime road closures. The expected timing is:
- Aug. 3–4: On Monday and Tuesday, crews plan to be on Hunter Run between Platte Canyon Road and Thoroughbred Run. Trash service will continue as normal on Monday, Aug. 3.
- Aug. 5–6: On Wednesday and Thursday, crews plan to be on Hunter Run between Thoroughbred Run and the Wild Plum entrance.
- Aug. 7: On Friday, crews will rotate through the sections of road, placing the top layer of asphalt.
Detour: During the project, flaggers and detour signs will reroute traffic.
- Traffic will be rerouted as shown on the map below. The detour involves using the emergency access that connects Damsire Drive and Latigo Place.
- Hunter Run Lane resident access will be accommodated and sidewalks will be open for golf carts.
- Arabian Place will be accessible throughout the entire project.
No Overnight Road Closures: At the end of each workday, crews are expected to reopen all sections of road, although only the bottom layer of asphalt may be in place.
Work Hours: To help ensure that work is completed each day with roads open at night:
- Crews are expected to start work at 6 a.m.
- Crews will attempt to minimize noise as much as possible.
- The timing is dictated by the asphalt plant hours.

5 Tools for Street Maintenance Updates
Please know that Public Works is committed to providing timely information about maintenance that impacts resident parking and driving within the Town. Keep in mind that schedules do change rapidly due to issues such as weather and crew availability. The Town communicates about street maintenance in the following ways:
- Website: This page is updated first and serves as the one source of truth of street maintenance.
- Email: The aim is to send a targeted email to affected residents when work begins in an area. All residents for whom we have an email address receive a message. If you’re not on the Town email list, send a note to KAnton@ColumbineValley.org.
- Door Tags: When significant work is planned, Public Works places a note on the front door of each impacted house. If you’re in the habit of entering through the garage, you might check the front door occasionally.
- Nextdoor: Find general updates on street maintenance at nextdoor.com/pages/town-of-columbine-valley.
- HOA Presidents: If a major and/or time-consuming project will occur in a neighborhood, Staff will communicate with the HOA President so he or she can cascade the information to their residents.
